    Unhappy YouTube New Problem!!

I have done the following to six iPhones...

I have used iTunes 7.3.2 with Firmware 1.0.2 and then Independance 1.1.1. I have then used freeiphoneunlock.com to unlock the handset. I have downloaded "TheThreeFiles" version 1 to hack the you tube; including patching the file in the activation_records folder. I have then patched the lockdownd file for use with any sim.

5 out of 6 of my phones are great. Phone number 6 does not work with youtube. I have restored and retried with variations; including copying a working version from another phone.

I have spent at least 10 hours on this one phone when all the others took me a hour tops.

When I first plugged it in the battery was nearly empty; with all my other phones they were fine out of the box. This might suggest it is a bit older???

The only thing I did differently with this phone was to remove the sim card before running the freeiphoneunlock.com. Is the IMEI from the sim card somehow copied in-part into the baseband of the phone during the hack ??

I am going absolutly insane. Please can someone more knowledgable that I please help me.

I have the exactly the same problem. Don't know what happened ... This is my 4th iphone, and the only thing this went wrong is during anysim running, it failed to patch.

And then it started to go wrong. Restoring the firmware doesn't help, I even tried reflashing the baseband firmware, and then even the AT&T sim is now the wrong sim.

Can someone please tell me how utube works ? Is there a special hidden file that regconises AT&T sim ?

    Exclamation

I upgraded to iTunes 7.4.1 and used Independance 1.2.1 .

I still have the youtube problem.

I have not tried re-installing the baseband; but it would seem that wouldnt fix it either. How can the Youtube be tied into the basedband?

I can make calls; I can browse the web; but youtube just wont work !!!!!

Please please can someone look into this more for us?

Search the forums for the 3-youtube-files thread. You will basically need to copy these files to a dir on the phone, and edit another file in the activation_records dir.

Doesn't that mean a lot of people are using the same set of device keys/certificates? That can't be good...
Is there a way to generate the certificate from my own keys?

    graf,

I had the same problem as you. But, I have not tried to copy the 3-files over and edit the activation_records/*.plist file. Can some confirm that works ?

This happened when my iphone was unlocked using ansim, and it failed to patch. And then youtube never works anymore.

Anyone know how does youtube application work ? Is it tied to some firmware ?

I have successfully tried this method with 5 iPhones; so I know it works. What I am saying is that on iPhone number 6 this method does not work.

Perhaps these device keys/certificates do not work on an older iPhone?

    graf9,

Are you using a patched lockdownd ?

I use pacay to unlock youtube on all the iphones, and they all worked, just this one ... wonder why ?
