    Question !!!!!!NEEd help!! ~recovery mode~@@@@@@{<>}{<>}

    I have a jailbroken iphone 3g, and since iOS 4 will be coming out soon i downloaded AutoSHSH to save a blob incase it messes something up. Anyways, in order to use AUtoSHSH i need to put my iPhone into recovery mode, I've read the Sticky forum and followed that procedure (turning off the phone and reconnecting it while holding down the home button, but it just boots normally even though I press the home button the entire time). I Also have tried holding the Sleep and Home button at the same time, but the connect to itunes image never apppears, and in fact nothing happens. PLEASE PLEASE help me!!
    Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    We don't recommend AutoSHSH here -- the tools recommended by hackint0sh are TinyTSS and the Firmware Umbrella. You can find a link to these programs and information on how to use them here:

    As for your recovery mode issue, I'm not sure what to tell you. The following three methods are the most common used for getting a device into recovery mode.

    1) With the iPhone plugged into your computer, begin a restore of an OS from iTunes. This will reboot the phone into recovery mode.
    2) With the iPhone turned off entirely, hold the home button and plug the iPhone into the computer, continuing to hold the home button until the 'Connect to iTunes' logo appears.
    3) With the iPhone turned off entirely, hold the home button, then while holding the home button, hold the power button for two seconds. Release the power button and continue to hold the home button until the 'Connect to iTunes' logo appears. DO NOT continue to hold the power button past the 2 seconds or you can end up in DFU mode.

    One of those three methods should work for you.
