Default Wiping iPhone for resale without breaking unlock?

I've unlocked my iPhone fine and it works great, however being in the UK I am nervous now about being able to use it on O2 in November. If I use the 'Erase All Content and Settings' option under Settings/General/Reset on the iPhone, will that wipe all personal data but keep the phone unlocked?

Well, replying to my own thread. I can confirm that this works without breaking the unlock. All data (photos, music, calendar entries etc) are erased and all settings reset (ie AT&T edge details appear back in place).

The phone still connected to Vodafone on reboot.

So did that remove all your applications that you added as well or just the data info?
