Default Will full restore delete all hack files?

Hi Everyone. Like many I am waiting for my turbosim and while waiting I have attempted (unsuccessfully) to load SHH using these instructions:

    http://www.hacktheiphone.com/iphone_...l_ssh_mac.html

I get to step 16 however I cant get any further. Simply getting a

    DAVID-LAPTOP:~/phonedmg/SSH davidaaron$ ssh -l root 192.168.0.119
ssh: connect to host 192.168.0.119 port 22: Operation timed out
    DAVID-LAPTOP:~/phonedmg/SSH davidaaron$

Previously I had used another SHH file (cant recall which one). The question is: Could I have screwed up and have two conflicting files on my iphone hence should I do a full restore and start again. EG: will a full restore delete all the hack files?

    Thanks for any help.

    Cheers

    David

Does this mean on the other hand, that Apple will be unable to see if the iPhone has been modded, if I do a full restore before sending it in? I don't want to loose my warranty ...

Couldn't answer that. There may be a counter, not sure.

There does seem to be a counter. After the restore, iTunes wants to send diagnostic info to Apple, and the most interesting thing I saw in it was a restore count. It does re-wipe everything to the bare bones, though, as far as the (main) file system goes.

I've now had to restore twice. Once because I tried to do the 1.0.1 firmware upgrade and it choked. (I had unjailbreaked, but there were lots of programs in there.) The other because even after deactivating, an official AT&T activation would not work with my hacked up phone. I'm in the process of re-hacking to the point I was at before that.
