Hi , any of you guys know why my WIFI is always searching for EDGE network even when i already connected to my home router, is there a way to disable it? I applied the DVD jon hack by the way and im canada.

Are you still able to use the WiFi connection when this is happening?

Maybe the iPhone gives precedence to cellular-based internet access over WiFi and will continually look for that type of connection even when using WiFi? Kinda like leaving wireless networking enabled on your computer when you have a wired connection.

No idea whether it's possible to disable that behavior though.

i cant use the wifi even when its already connected to my network , all it says on safari , weather and stocks is Cannot connect to EDGE

i think the only way to turn it off is airplane mode, but i think that also turns off the wifi... your battery life will be severely reduced if it's always searching for a network too.
