    Default WIFI problem (can't find host) .. PLEASE HELP

    hi,
    i have got 5 new iphones last week in version 1.0.2
    after i unlock them the WIFI is getting connected fine ..
    but when i try to open ant web site in Safari i get this ERROR message
    (Safari can't open the page because it can't find the server)
    and in the installer app it gives me (can't find the host)
    but in my Sony Ericsson P990i is working well with my LinkSys WIFI router
    BTW, this is not the first time i unlock an i phone i have unlock about 12 iphones before and no one have the same problem ..
    but this time all the 5 have the same problem !!
    BTW, EDGE is woking fine ..
    so PLEASE HELP ME ASAP !!

    its the dns settings.. most likely you have 2 routers that are part of your network.. are you using DSL? ...some DSL providers give you a router with just 1 port basically....

    under wifi settings, select just one of the DNS servers (you might have more then one) , trust me, the phones are perfectly ok, its your network connection.

    for some odd reason, the iPhone isn't picking up the dns servers properly.

    my history: i have an N95, iPhone -> went through this problem at multiple locations. N95 worked like a charm..

    hope this helps.. REMEMBER, its your iPhone wifi settings! (dns, gateway etc.) , NOT YOUR PHONE and NOT YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION!!

    yes, i am a DSL use ..
    my wireless network made of 2 parts: a non-wireless modem connected to a wireless router ..
    but where can i find a DNS/Gateway numbers ??
    and if i put a working DNS is my WI-FI will work %100 fine ?

    it wan a DNS issue !!

    Hi iATA,

    COuld you please tell me what you did to get it working, I have the exact same problem. I'm also using a adsl-modem connected to a wireless router (FON).
