What about other WiFi Networks? Would be the first thing to check for me to find out if that's an iPhone or router problem!

I don't think this has anything to do with the router.
Morganirl, can you please provide a screenshot?

Circle shows that your carrier’s GPRS network is available, and iPhone can connect to the Internet over GPRS if EDGE is unavailable. Check iPhone User Guide, page #17

Both means nothing, the iPhone in fact isn't compatible wirh some routers. Had the same problem here. While my MacBook could use WiFi without any problems, the iPhone got kicked out all the time.
For me, the solution was as easy as updating the router's firmware. Now everything is working as supposed to. I would give it a try. If it still doesn't work, I'll repeat it: Go out and try on other networks - perhaps your router is not compatible at all.
