Default Why You Won't Have Your SW Unlock Today, Tomorrow, or This Week.

The latest I've read is that iphonesimfree is *still* not ready. (sigh)

Now IPSF might seem on the surface like the most retarded and unorganized company on Earth. The fact is that they are playing it smart.

They have been building up the hype nice and easy over the course of a few weeks. And every day that goes by is another 5000 to 15000 orders from their many resellers, as buzz builds and as more and more resellers come online.

Knowing that the hack will be sniffed and reversed immediately after release, and that they currently own the market on unlocking solutions - they have nothing to gain and everything to lose by releasing something today, or for that matter, this week.

As soon as the unlock is reversed, all of their resellers will immediately move to selling a re-branded version of the free and open unlock for people stupid enough to pay for it. (why settle for a 20% commission when you can have 100%?)

So what you are witnessing is one long striptease. Three weeks ago we got the initial announcement. Two weeks ago we got the first promise of release. This week a new website. And so on...

I would be very surprised if there are not a one or two more "technical issues" with their authentication server or whatever they can think up to delay even more over the course of this week.

Long story short - get used to the idea of carrying your iPhone and your cell phone for at least one more week. I were running IPSF I would do exactly the same thing. It's a good strategy to maximize profits.

So I predict no unlock this week. But I would love to be wrong about this one, believe me.

Source? Engadget seems to be claiming that they've tested the final release version of the software and it's a go.

i think they are just trying to receive enough money before releasing it.. since they know there's no way to protect the software after publishing it... smart move.

    Default I don't agree

I don't agree with this, if they delay a lot the release of the software maybe another company can have a solution, or maybe the DEV team can release a free solution and then their business will be over.

Right now it is the exact time to release the software to sell and sell unlock software.
