Hi all, I have and 1.0 FW iphone unlocked with anySim 1.0.x, and all is working perfect in Entel PCS Chile carrier.
I don't have an iTunes account and I won't have it! Is it really necessary to do the upgrade?
What are the benefits of doing it?

I know that appeared some safe guides to doing it, but help me to understand if its make any sense when you have a perfect working phone.

Its not a "perfect phone" that is the reason, with every update is close to do that

You dont have:
voicedial
A2DP (Stereo over Bluetooth)
AVCPR (remote control A/V over Bluetooth)
Video recording
Copy & Paste
File transfers (over bluetooth)
Contacts search
many other features....


and each update is close to do it (hopefully)

the actual iphone (even 1.1.1) dont have this features, but we hope to have it in the future

So you're not answering my first question: "Why should I upgrade?"
I've a list of nice to have apps either...

I didnt update, even though I could. I'm still on 1.0.2, first because i dont need the international keyboard, the sound fix is all that I want on 1.1.1 and I got the patch for that on my iphone with 1.0.2, sec the 1.1.1 takes too much space, I didn't have enough storage for all 3rd party programs and third 1.0.2 is a lot more easier to customize to my liking, sounds, sms, themes, games...I guess I'll wait till the next update and see if any major changes is comming, for now I'm happy with 1.0.2

what patch are you speaking off for the sound fix on 1.0.2?

^What he said. I have not heard of a patch for the sound issues.
