Why return to jail?
Like many others I too was showing only 265mb of memory. I broke jail again and synced up and the iphone showed the correct memory capacity and i was able to transfer songs, movies, etc. What is the benefit if any to return to jail? The way it is now i can sync anytime and it will read true. So why would i want to return to jail when done and then break jail again the next time i sync up? Is the phone just more secure in a read only state?

Just wanna know if its bad to leave the phone in the jailbreak state?

The reason is because you want to continue to be able to sync stuff but want the ringtones and other customizations.

I have yet to return to jail, and when i sync up everything goes smoothly and shows the correct capacity. If i return to jail itll show the wrong info when trying to sync, thats why i have yet to return to jail. I just wanted to make sure it would not be harmful keeping the phone in this state rather than return to jail after every sync session

Going back to jail is good cause you can still collect rent on you properties but you dont get to pass go and collect $200 on the way there.

gonads, good point. and if you roll double 5's you get out of jail and get the cash in the middle of the board.
