why cant i install SSH with independence? (other methods)
hi
i've tried to install SSH on my iphone for like 10 times since yesterday, always tried to do it with independence.
all i get is
ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.124 port 22: Connection refused
i deleted the known_hosts file, SSH is installed (otherwise it would be a timed out error), but why is it telling me "Connection refused".
as far as i know this error comes when something with the permissions is wrong, but since i dont have SSH i cant repair them.
any help, or maybe another method that works with 1.0.2 AND 1.1.1 (i wasnt able to install SSH on my 1.1.1 phone eighter)

Install Installer.app, then Comunity Sources and then OpenSSH.
I recomend you to install too, Services.app to open and close SSH.

okey this may work on 1.0.2, but after upgrading to 1.1.1 i wont have SSH again, and the onliest solution known to me is to install SSH with independence
thanks anyway, i'll give it a try, at least i could do it on 1.0.2

Very true. For me, it appears that the SSH install does actually work (I can connect via terminal using SSH or SFTP after a long delay) but Independence can't actually perform its pre-1.1.1 step.
Getting connection refused is odd, unless you have something on your network which isn't allowing port 22? You could try setting up a computer-to-computer network like I did and assign the computer and the iphone static addresses to ensure there's no interference or other network-related issues at work here.
Other than that, there have been other people with similar problems to yours and mine so hopefully they'll be looked into in a newer version of the app

Strange. Might be something stupid like your WIFI being disabled or that you need to forget about the connection and create a new one? Does the iPhone ping?

yes i can ping the phone, i got the right ip made it static.
i was able toconnect via SSH when i installed dropbear via iphuc but that was long ago.
so it shouldntbe a network problem
