    Default What's on Port 62078

    Hi
I did a port scan and found something running on port 62078

Don't know what it is, and when ever you connect, it cuts the connection right away.

    Any ideas?

I quick google search for "Port 62078" would have giving you the answer.

Port 62078 is the port used by UpnP, which is a standard for devices to share media between them. For example the XBox360 and PS3 use UpnP to allow your computer to wireless stream media from your PC to your PS3. I use EyeConnect for mac which supports UpnP protocol to share all my Music, Photos, and Videos to the Playstation 3. My guess is Apple is planning to offer one direction sharing (that's what UpnP does) for the iPhone so that you can stream content from it to any UpnP device, which I assume will soon include the AppleTV. This would allow "safe" sharing of your media on your iPhone to the big screen, or say your photo collection or music right onto an AppleTV or a playstation 3.

    This is a HUGE deal!
