Default What is your EDGE speed?

Go to http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest and check out what is your speed using EDGE.

My EDGE is only performing 40kbps, very pathetic. My O2 mini did so much better. I thought EDGE can goes up to 384kbps? Is this an iphone problem?

It will depend on the class of the gsm modem in the iPhone.
it's either 236.8kbit/s (up to 4 timeslot) or 473.6 (up to 8 timeslot).
To get those speed you'd have to be on a base station with very few people.

The 384kbit/s you're refering to is the UMTS speed (3G) which the iPhone doesn't support.

The problem with EDGE (as well as GPRS) is that the speed will depend on how many people are currently active on the network

According to iphonenetworktest.com I usually get around 150Kbs/sec at home and around 200 kb/sec in most other places. Their results show an average Edge speed of 209 Kb/sec... like I believe that. They also show around 600 kb/sec average wifi speed. I always get over 1mb/sec.

I've done several speed tests, the one on cnet (http://reviews.cnet.com/7004-7254_7-0.html) with wireless selected returns 175k consistantly, this is on tmobile's edge network.
