What kind of prepaid card I should buy?
I lived outside of US. And I want to ask my friend to buy a prepaid card for me to test the IASign activation.
But I have no idea about what kind of prepaid that I should buy?
I don't need to make any call.
So, if I can spend less money to buy the card, that will be great.
Even there is no points inside is fine for me.
BTW, if I use this kind of method to activate my iPhone, the Youtube should work, right? Because I have seen my rich friend who use roaming to make phone call, and his iPhone can use Youtube without any problem.
Any advices is appreciated.
Thank you, guys.
tell him to buy a cingular or att prepaid card.it doesnt matter what amount $10, $25 whatever.
if you activate the phone with the card. yes everything will work, but you wont be able to make any calls since prepaid mins dont roam outside US.
Keep in mind that pay as you go minutes will expire over time, some time after expiration i think they will cancel the phone number. Theres a chart in Cingular website, i believe 10-20$ worth of minutes expiration date is 1 or 2 months.
Unless you officially activate via AT&T, youtube or yahoo mail won't work afaik.

I got a little confused...
The youtube and Yahoo mail will work or not?
The activated with prepaid card and IASign should be the same with offical activate, right?
Anyway, thank you for your information.
I will ask my friend and make a test when I get the prepaid card.
Well there are 2 kinds of prepaid GoPhone plans.

"Pick your plan" can be acquired officially for iPhone by failing credit check or putting an invalid social security number. This will cost minimum of 30$ for 200min/month + 20$ for data per month for a total of 50$ each month (if you call AT&T they might drop data plan, but its unclear). If you officially activate with this plan, both Youtube and Yahoo mail will work fine. I believe you need to supply a US credit card/billing address for them to approve you.
"Pay as you go" is only supported with iAsign (hack method), and not officially supported by AT&T. The method to get it working will not make YouTube or Yahoo mail work. (although there were very few reports that fake activation allowed youtube access, but i haven't really seen a definitive proof of this)
