What iTunes Version to Use?
Hi All,
iPhone newbie here.
I've just been given an original iPhone which my dad had unlocked, on a recent trip to Hong Kong, and brought back to the UK for me to use.
I've put my o2 SimCard in and Edge etc seems to be working fine, so no problems there.
He was told not to use anything above a certain revision of iTunes, which they put in a disk, in the box.
Unfortunately the disk got damaged on the journey back so I don't know what version of iTunes to use to get my songs onto it!
[ORIGINAL QUESTION ANSWERED] how do I tell if its been hardware unlocked or just jailbroken?
Is there anything else I should be looking for at all?
Many thanks in advance and look forward to being an active part of this community.

Firmware:
Go to Settings>General>About
Scroll to Version.
If you have 1.1.x (any release of OS 1) you may stick to iTunes 7.6 or lower, nevertheless you can run iTunes 7.7 (the latest) with OS 1.1.4 or less.
Just Google for iTunes and you should have the direct URL from Apple to download the version (MAC or PC) and revision you need.
You may want to consider upgrading to the latest iPhone OS 2.0. There is a guide on this forum under PwnageTool 2.0 or WinPwn or you can search the web and pick the one you like best as there are many by now.

Thanks Jfmsam,
I have version 1.0.2(1C28) - I knew it was an old iPhone, but didn't think it was that old.
What version of iTunes should I be looking at?
Thanks,

Just found a little scrap of paper in the box, says 7.5 is the highest suggested by the store I got it from, so Going to stick with that for now - thanks for the help guys.
