Any features totally useless and disabled after the unlock?

Also, I will be unlocking my iphone when it arrives, but do not have a sim card yet...

Will I be able to use it as a pda/ipod till my sim card arrives?

well, as for features Visual Voicemail is gone when you are not using AT&T, but that is pretty obvious

The unlock itself does not have any effect on the features. Everything works except for, as said, AT&T's proprietary services (i.e. visual voicemail).

If after unlock you activate youtube, enter the EDGE settings of your carrier and activate the voicemail button, you will have pretty much everything working.

whats visual voicemail anyways? voicemail with a pic of yourself or actual video or yourself?

someone needs to spend a little time reading and wathing teh vids on apple.coma bout the iphone


you are buying one. you should know what it does etc..

also read a little around the forum, being spoon fed info will not make you learn anything.

Its a way to browse your voicemail without actually CALLING the number.

You get a list of messages on your voicemailbox and you choose which ones to listen/delete etc without having to call the number and go through the process with pressing buttons and stuff.

AFAIK thats the only iphone feature that breaks, and thats because no other networks so far support visual voicemail. Everything else can be patched up to full working order.
