iPhone 8gb shipped this night, at 1.30pm Brussels customs contacted me for the stupid tax.
So holding my breath how much tax i am gonna pay. It was declared as repair and return. Insured for the value of the phone. I guess the only work around the taxes is not having it insured.

But then again, what if it's damaged during shipping..no insurrance is no money back.

All in all, Max 1,5 day for getting it from CA to Belgium is very great.

    Thanks,

    Peloche,

Popopo nobody knows ? Ad is on iPhone Dev Wiki site

    If I did understand well:

iPhone (8 Gb) ordered at US Apple store on line : US$ 599

"Accept and deliver" charges from US Personal Shoppers (to receive iPhone from Apple store and resend it to any destination worldwide) 5% : US$ 29,95

    Shipping and insurance : US$ 60 (average)

    Total : US$ 688,95

    VAT at customs (for France is 19,6%) : 599 * 0,196 = US$ 117,04

    Total price : 668,95 + 117,04 = US$ 806,35

    US$ 806,35 = 586 euros and your name is on Apple's invoice.

It could be a good deal, but how reliable is US Personal Shoppers ?

    Thanks for your comments,

    Peloche

Any experiences with the United States Postal Service (Global Express Guaranteed® -- 1 to 3 days) from New York to Berlin, Germany?

They don't seem to update the status very often:

    "Status: International Dispatch

Your item left the United States from J. FARLEY, NY at 8:44 PM on July 9, 2007. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

How much custom duties did you pay for Europe, guys?

    This Tax sucks !!

In fact, we have to pay tax twice ! first in the US (for example 8,375 % in New york), second in the EU ( 19,5 france, 19 germany ).

Are there any other costs, besides the 19 percent tax (114 dollars or 83 euros for the 599 dollars iPhone?!) for Germany?
