Question What are the advantages of unlocking iPhoine if you use AT&T?

I am newbie to this but I have a few questions:
    • If I am currently using AT&T what are the advantages of unlocking the SIM?
    • Will I be able to use all features with AT&T if the phone is unlocked?
    • What would be the best method to use if I still want to use AT&T, unlock the SIM or just activate the iPhone with one of the methods found here?

    Thank you.

There are no benefits that come with the unlock itself, but the preparations for the unlock set up the phone for 3rd party apps, lots of customization, and easy SIM swapping.

Also, if you plan to travel abroad, prepaid sims from your destination are much cheaper then your home carriers rates.

I have no idea but people using AT&T should let the people who REALLY need the SW unlock get it first! :p

Hehe, don't worry about that. I'm sure there's plenty of downloads to go around.

Anyway, as previous posters mentioned, you can swap your sim to any gsm carriers sim, which can save you money abroad, and is convenient if you decide to cancel your at&t service for whatever reason.
