Default [Warranty] Exactly what to do to ensure Apple replaces your iphone?

My touchscreen on my iphone broke and i caled up apple care and they agreed to send me a replacement so long as i hadn't "tampered" with it

Unfortunately I wouldn't be on this forum if I hadn't been tampering but i have a few questions about ensuring any evidence of tampering is removed...

    Last i used was ziphone 1.0 where i selected "-u -a -j"
Am i correct in saying that my BOOTLOADER will still be 4.6
but my BASEBAND will have been downgraded?

Will Apple know if my BASEBAND has changed?
Is there a way to upgrade my baseband?

    thanks for any help!

Just know the process. You will send THEM a phone, they will look at it. If you unlocked it, plan on getting on your old phone back.

It is too bad. Apple knows if you unlocked it. We can tell.

    Here are the facts:
    - Apple has records of which iPhones have been activated through AT&T. They can bring up this information based on your serial number or phone number AT THE STORE or OVER THE PHONE

It would be very interesting to find out if this is true. It sounds impossible: generally accepted wisdom is that a full revirgination is possible, and that no trace is left. rohanmalik007, why don't you do everything to bring your phone back to the original state, send it over, and see if lsmaster's threat is real.

Start with the baseband, then do the baseband bootloader (with BootNeuter), and then restore with iTunes to the right firmware.

(By the way, it may be Apple's legal right in some countries to deny service to a jailbroken phone, but that's the letter of the law -- there's also the true intention of the law: to protect manufacturers from having to repair damage that's inflicted by the user tampering with their products. There is simply no way that a fractured glass screen would be inflicted by jailbreaking. I think it's an open question what a judge would say about this.)

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

I am not threatening anything. I am simply informing. There is a tool, it is a simple check. Just know, from now on and since the release of all the hacking - Apple can check your account status and information without every contacting ATT.
