ohh and i went yesterday and got my phone replaced. just did a quit refurb through idemocracy, then a dfu restore. walked into the store and told them i kept getting the "Repair needed screen" he did some bullshit test then gave me a new one.

ididnt kill it 100%, cause what if they dont replace it. i suggest saying the repair needed screen keeps coming back.

it's funny how that's as far as you got reading on that post, because right below the sentence you quoted it says
    - Apple website clearly says "Apple's warranty is not dependent on activation of the phone"
but i guess you somehow missed that part............

"I don't know if you guys are following the "We need to talk." thread anymore. Just a heads up that I received confirmation from Jobs himself that the next iPhone firmware update is definitely going to make every effort to keep us from installing 3rd party apps."

    instant classic.

i dont believe i missed out on whats been said on this thread!
abolutely hilarious posts from the apple genius ...i regret not checking up on it sooner...
in answer to some of your questions, i didnt take it to an apple store direct because i heard they make you activate in store when you get a replacement phone...best way is to get the applecare service where activation isnt necessary
phone was 1.1.2 OTB and is on 1.1.3 now...perhaps i should sort that out ?

from what i can tell im going to just send it in with a plain and simple restore and hope it works?
i trust this forums community much more than a sole mac genius lsmaster

    Default Any word

has anyone sent it in or brought it to an apple store with full restore and gotten a replacement?
I have a 1st gen iphone that I bought new off someone on Craigslist and it included Apple Care. I unlocked it to Tmobile and the vibrating mechanism is rattling loudly.
It's definitely not a software issue.

Even if they can tell that you never activated with a tool that queries AT&T (or O2, T-Mobile etc.) database they would still have to provide service because of their policy.

I know, I know, it has already been said... but that was a perfect chance for an Objection.
I'll go back to my last trial now...
