Now you pretend to be an Apple "iPhone" Genius ?

Also it has been proven that 2 years at&t plan it not required for the iPhone warranty.

There is nothing personal, but i don't really like your intervention in this thread with your superior appearance. WoW or Myspace are much more appropriate for this kind of attitude.

lsmaster's credibility is dripping away fast.

On a different note, does anyone fear that Apple may create a new tool to determine whether an iPhone has been jailbroken and restored, based on this: http://www.zdziarski.com/ ? I don't think they are doing it now, but in theory they could look in the "erased" portions of the flash memory to see if any traces of jailbreaking (e.g. traces of unofficial applications) remain.

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

Brother, not to burst your bubble or anything, but being a 'Genius' at Macs is like being a genius at reading the back of cereal boxes.

WOW, this is really interesthing. That really raises a lot of questions about iphone privacy and stuff. I'd love to know what/if anything is present on the factory replacement that I got.

Even more, I'd like to see someone from the dev team like MuscleNerd respond to this with his thoughts.

    Here are the facts:

    - Apple has records of which iPhones have been activated through AT&T. They can bring up this information based on your serial number or phone number AT THE STORE or OVER THE PHONE
    I rest my case.

Activation has nothing to do with the warranty.

Knowing that Apple has access to the activated iphones Customer database is a Punchinello's secret.
It is obvious when you know they have a deal with at&t (30% of the calls bill is going to Apple).

If my phone gets a hardware problem >little trip to micro wave oven and your "tool to know" is useless

Activation or not, Apple will have to replace it.
