Default [Warranty] Can i use my friend's at&t simcard to return my phone ?

So I've got a quick question for you guys. As of late my iPhone has been having problems staying connected to my computer. It likes to connect, then disconnect at random. As a result, I'm not able to sync my music, videos, pics, etc. As well as not being able to sync my entire collection, my phone inevitably ends up jacked up and whatever has synced, is no longer recognized by either the phone or iTunes.

On to the real question. Tomorrow I plan on taking my phone into the apple store to see what they can do. The problem is, it's unlocked and on T-Mobile. So to remedy that, I'm having my friend take it in for me who is with AT&T and has an iPhone. He'll simply put his sim card into my phone, and then proceed to tell them the problems that I've been having and hopefully they can fix it. Now that's the plan anyways. Do you guys think that it will work? Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Tyler

They might get a little iffy about the serial number and IMEI numbers not matching those he activated with. That's the only thing I can think of going wrong.

That's what I unfortunately figured might happen.

Do you know if you would have the same problem, if you virginized your iphone then connected it (you would get the activation acreen in itunes), would it disconnect at random if you left it connected at this screen?

If so then just revirginize and say every time you connect it to itunes to activate it disconnects randomly and as a result you cant activate it and your not going to activate it as its faulty and your not happy you want a replacemtn or want it fixed. Because you dont need to have activated it to claim your warranty.

Of course there is a fairly good chance that the problem lies with your computer disconnecting your iphone rather than a problem with your iphone disconnecting from your computer.

Yeah thats what i was thinking, perhaps a dodgy usb port, and the cable gets knocked and the connection is broken. try it on as many different usb ports as you can to verify its the phone. and if possible try it on another computer.

2 hours ago, my iPhone and iTouch where doing kinda same.

I had to reboot/restart the Mac to get it back to normal.

This can be a computer issue. Try with another computer like above mentioned

I had USB problems for ages with iPods and my iPhone. In the end it just came down to physically disconnecting every other USB device (with cable) before I could get my iPhone to stay reliabily connected. I've since found that I can have my USB printer connected as long as its switched off, as the moment its switched on the computer drops the connection to my iPhone.
