hello all of a sudden I have a issue with my volume control it was working fine now the up control doesnt work from the side button. and when I boot the phone it shows the volume icon on center of screen and stays there until i press volume down . weird . up volume will work through setting menu. any ideas?

I have same problem, mine is either a stuck/damaged volume switch or water damage. Haven't bothered to fix it because it's my 2G iPhone and I rarely use that any more.
