Have any UK users had success with voicemail on Vodafone?
Like most people, I wasn't receiving the voicemail notification texts, so I switched my voicemail option (by calling 121) to "Alert and Deliver" or whaterver, which actually gets voicemail to call you when you have messages.
I have also recieved messages from "Vodafone Call Catcher", which come up as messages from the person that called me. These seem to arrive when I get calls while my phone is out of range or off.
If you don't get these, try calling 1481 for info.
I was also looking at the vodafone.net mail service, which seemed to imply it was giving some sort of enhanced voicemail service, but I tried to sign up on vodafone.net and the activation text message to my phone never arrived.
Anybody else on Voda UK got some success/failure stories?
You get those messages because the sender number is purely numeric and has no characters in
I'm on O2 UK and they have something called Caller Alert - which basically sends you a test message from the calls numbber with date and time to say you've missed a call, however Voicemail SMS and Webbased SMS dont come through due to them having a non numeric senders number
It really all depends on what the operator uses to send out VM alerts.
so... i thought that sms with letters in the sender's number would crash mobilesms.app... is it possible I'm receving them in my sms.db but they aren't being displayed?
