I’ve been looking into the YouTube problem with Vodafone UK running Firmware v1.1.2 and reading the help information list on the site, most people are being pointed to the three file fix used on v1.1.1, now I’ve tried this and it doesn’t fix YouTube on v1.1.2 running UK Vodafone.

YouTube will open and preview the clips but when you try to play them you get “YouTube videos require an EDGE or Wi-Fi Connection”

The problem is firstly I’ve been told Vodafone do not support EDGE in the UK however people running Firmware v1.1.1 will confirm there EDGE and YouTube are working fine on Vodafone UK witch is really strange?

So this started me thinking!! Because Firmware v1.1.1 doesn’t have the functionality to distinguish between EDGE and GPRS like v1.1.2 does, when they have the (E) sign the YouTube app must think where’s EDGE when there’s only GPRS connected and allows the clip to play.

I’m guessing the Fix us v1.1.2 people need from someone knowledgeable is a way of tricking the YouTube App into thinking it’s connected to EDGE with only the Blue Box Icon (GPRS).

1st: Id like to now if anyone on Vodafone UK has YouTube working “Without Wi-Fi Connected” on v1.1.2.

2nd: Does anyone have any ideas on fixing this problem
