    Those are the UK vodafone settings for contract SIMs, PAYG use pp.Vodafone.co.uk

    It could be that your iPhone is not picking up Edge if your location is only supporting GPRS.

    I was under the impression that entering the GPRS Vodafone settings would work as EDGE is an evolution of GPRS

    Correct, but you can't always pick up Edge, so in that case your phone will use GPRS. Unless there isnt any GPRS available and only offer voice. Or it could be that you are at Ribblehead station in North Yorkshire which (at least last time I was there) doesn't have any signal at all.

    I'm on Vodafone Uk and on a hacked iPhone, and having a similar problem - I can enter the details (APN, etc) for Vodafone but there's no save button appearing and the settings don't stick if i go back to Network.

    I'm entering internet, web, web, the contract details as I have a contract sim. What else can I do?

    APN=internet.vodafone.gr
    USER=
    PASS=
    internet with EDGE works 100%

    and for later MAYBE! if we have mms and wap

    mms.vodafone.gr
    user=user
    pass=pass

    wap.vodafone.gr
    user=user
    pass=pass

    EDGE is just enhanced GPRS. The settings are the same.

    For UK Vodafone on contract SIMs the APN, user and pass are correctly quoted above. This should work.

    I am on UK Vodafone and use these settings, and GPRS works properly. The iPhone displays an 'E' symbol even though it's vanilla GPRS rather than EDGE, so don't start thinking UK Voda have suddenly rolled out EDGE!!

    Are you running firmware 1.0.2? Check this first, and ensure that there's nothing else wrong with your unlock. If you can send SMS texts and make / receive calls, and there's nothing else wrong with any of the native apps, then the already-given information *should* work.

    If not, then you've probably got other settings screwed up somewhere along the line and it may be worth restoring from scratch and starting again.

    There is, however, progress being made on setting up various services (such as the voicemail button for Voda UK) using AT commands to the modem via minicom in the Terminal. It appears that the iPhone is expecting a very specific setup (presumably all the AT&T SIMs are set up as per Apple's spec) and all our random Euro SIMs have different settings from having been in different phones... so it may be that you need to set a service centre or something.

    I only know the command for setting the voicemail number, perhaps it would be a good idea to have a sticky for useful AT commands that may be needed to 'fix' iPhones with SIMs that have odd data from previous phones / contracts / etc.

    (edited - there's a page in the Dev Team Wiki called 'AT Commands' exactly for this.... there's something called AT+CGPADDR but I wouldn't use it without confirmation from someone who knows exactly how all these commands work)
