Exclamation Vodacom SA - any fellow sufferers?

So... iphone unlocked and working like a charm in South Africa on MTN network.

On Vodacom, can make calls, but not receive calls... You get a call failed message when trying to dial iPhone...

The sim is fine, it registers on the network, Vodacom-SA shows up etc. So known working unlocked iPhone, known working SIMS, but the iPhone/Vodacom combo seems toxic.

    Anybody got Vodacom working yet?

Hey Im on Cell C and it is working perfectly just that the Data prices are too high. I started a number port to vodacom today cause of the cheap data rates, now Im scared! So mtn is good for you? You get Edge working?

Incoming calls are an issue with some iPhones on certain providers. Checkout this post http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...light=incoming and report your situation. A solution hopefully is in the pipeline. It seems to be an infrastructure issue with affected carriers.

Just to confirm ... MTN sim works fine... edge very useable, SMS in and out all fine... only glitch seems to be no voicemail notification SMS's... but I can live with that

Apple is one amazing company - they make such cool stuff and can be braindead all at the same time...

what's the deal with not being able to forward SMS? or cut and paste? or hell, being able to easily switch smtp servers? This is fundamental stuff guys...

Before we had Youtube, we should have had this shit right...

But I still love the phone...

hehe Ok. Should be getting my iphone soon, i live in JHB. I know vodacom doesnt work in the Cape and now in Durban, i was hoping it was just old towers or something at the coasts, or the coast air (lol). Ill let you know if it works in JHB. If not, im stuck in a 2year voda contract and ill have to get MTN :<
Have you got MSN or something easyer to chat ? Wanna ask a question or two.
