Default Virgin iPhone - Restore to manually downloaded 1.0.2 or WAIT for new 1.1.1 hack???

I just got my new iPhone from the Apple Store and want to use it on rogers in Canada.

I'm just wondering if restoring with 1.0.2 now and activating will make it difficult to upgrade later (ver. 1.1.1 for example).

    Any reason to wait?

If you can hold out for a few days, I say wait.

If you decide not to wait, then you'll be among the rest of us with 1.0.2 & unlock.

use it now with 1.0.2... and when the 1.1.1 get hacked, which it will, then upgrade when a supported method is released. no reason to let you iphone be a pretty paperweight till then.

I say wait at least a few days to see how this all unfolds. It might end up being easier to go from never been unlocked to unlocked with 1.1.1.

restoring the baseband might not be enough as it doesn't reset your nck counter. Therefore, reflashing the baseband might not be enough to fully restore it to "virgin state". If you've unlocked and/or installed 3rd party applications on to your phone, don't even think about updating until more information is known.
