Virgin 1.1.1 with NO WiFi ??

I have an iphone that I purchased in the past, I Activated it and used the sim clone for a while but then my touch screen stopped working, I took it to apple and they upgraded it to 1.1.1 with no problems and no errors.
I went home and started to activate it using the *#307# method but when i got to the settings it said NO WiFi!!
is this normal? I tried restoring a couple of times with no change. it always shows No WiFi.
any recommendations?

any suggestions?
all numbers btw are intact, imei serial firmware all correct. just the damn wifi

Are you sure you had turn on the WiFi ?

By the way you should be near by a AP.

On my laptop there are maybe 20+ AP ofcourse only one is my homes AP

and as for on WiFi I dont get that option, Wifi is just Greyed out and says NO WiFi.
Yesterday the touchscreen ddint work and apple just updated the firmware for me and it fixed the touch screen but now WiFi doesnt work.
Not sure if i can walk in to apple and tell them I did the *#307# to check that everything is functioning before I sending it to my brother who lives overseas.

The problem looks like it is similar to the bricked phones issue where they had no wifi, bad imei and other issues but with me it is just no wifi now

I think the other way, I just thinking that that iPhone has a problem with its wifi module ..

Can you try to activate it using something else such as independence to see that will it work after activation ?

hmm I couldnt do it. tried to use a friends macbook but he had already installed itunes 7.5 so I couldnt run independence on it.
CARNAVAL didnt work also saying i have to configure the WIFI but it did not work.

I think there is a problem with the phone but I dont knwo how to make apple switch it out for me.
I downgraded the iphone to 1.0.2 but still it wouldnt jailbreak, keeps givng me errors, i tried apptapp, ibrickr and winstaller nothing worked, kept on getting stuck during jailbreak but never fully jailbroken.

Still i updated to 1.1.1 between the above failed attempts and still had the NO Wi-Fi- problem.
