Default Very low sensitivity on microphone 3GS

    Hi,

This is my first post here, but I just couldn't stand it anymore. I just got a new 3GS iphone 3.1.3 and I jailbroke and unlocked it for T mobile. Phone is abs. fine but one problem. The mic does not work very well. When I am talking I have to be literally 2 inches away or it won't pick me up.I have to be laying in bed facing the phone, I tried to look up at the ceiling while my phone is on the bed next to me and it wouldn't pick up my voice. I don't know think it is a hardware problem. But I do have warranty on it still, but the problem is I called Apple and they said they wouldn't fix my phone since I jailbroke it. Also they wanted me to update to ios 4. I don't know what I should do at this point.
I am not sure if some of you have had the same problems or not.

Apple will likely need to become less strict about no warranty for jailbreaking or carrier unlock in the US. These have now become legal. Although the unlocking is not legal in your case (it has to be a used [ie second hand] phone before it is legal).

Did you pay all the required exit fees to get out of the AT&T contract? - that might be enough to consider it used.

There will be a jailbreak for 3GS on iOS 4 soon - argue with Apple and get it replaced. Try the iOS 4 upgrade if necessary.

It is used, I mean the phone is new in the fact that I just got it.

But it is now illegal for apple not to warranty unlocked used iphones? I will call again and see what they say and try to get it replaced.
