hey I have an iphone 3Gs, and AT&T doesn't cover my area well so I can not really do anything accept for apps and wifi when home (I travel and get service there though so makes up for it.) For the times that I am home I want to switch to a virgin mobile pay as you go plan. Has anyone here tried this yet?

The only other major carrier that you can use an iPhone with in the USA is T-Mobile.

Virgin Mobile uses Sprint's network. Neither Sprint or Verizon has a network that is compatible with the iPhone.

If your reception is so bad, complain to AT&T - they may offer to cancel your contract (you'll probably have to return the iPhone) and then you can get one that works with Sprint or Verizon.

If you want to stick with the iPhone and are able to downgrade to iOS version 3.1.2 you can probably jailbreak and unlock.
