use existing AT&T sim w/o extending contract
before everyone jumps down my n00bie neck for this question, i have searched seemingly everything i can think of on many forums, and the web in general. but, i can't find a definitive answer. so here goes:
i have a 1.1.2 OTB phone (week 51--i don't know anything else about the phone as it is still in the celo in case i need to return it)
i have an existing AT&T family plan
i would like to add a $30 phone line ($10 add a line + $20 data plan) for the iphone. (in other words, i want to use the sim they give me for the added line in the iphone)
i DO NOT want to extend the contract 2 years for the iphone
question: which, if any software hacks/jailbreaks will let me accomplish the above. i'm certain the h/w sim unlock will do this. but, can i get what i'm looking for with software only since this is an AT&T sim?
many thanks in advance.

Yes, as long as you bypass the activation, the phone will work with AT&T regardless of iPhone plan.
Bypassing activation will require a jailbreak and replacing the lockdownd file with a patched one giving the phone a factory activated status.

FYI, you will not have visual voicemail.
Also, you need to upload 3 additional files in order to enable YouTube. (very easy to do once jailbroken)
