im trying to upgrade my phone from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 on itunes it says 1.1.2 can i upgrade to 1.1.2 and bypass 1.1.1 or will it brick my phone?

try to press shift before you press update
then you can choose the firmware.but u have to virginize before did you?

i was too scared to do anything... so virginize then download 1.1.1 software and when i press update on itunes hold the shift key down then update with 1.1.1 and not 1.1.2.

This also works on the reverse if you need to downgrade backward to 1.02 and then
upgrade back to 1.1.1 to jailbreak and/or unlock 1.1.2
If you shift or option click the update you cam similarly downgrade getting the
same
1015 then 1013 errors becasue iTunes can't change the modem firmware......

The beauty of this is all your data and settings are intact!!!!
I did this on my week25 phone just to run the anySIM unlock(BTW which worked)....
on T-Mo with 1.1.2

PS:I used a AT&T card to activate 1.1.2
PPS:You will have no phone service in 1.1.1 on the way up or down because it doesnt work with 1.1.2 modem firmware.1.0.2 does
