After contemplating over a month about updating or not my dad's iPhone 1.0.2 to 1.1.1, I decided to do it. I followed the instructions here: http://iphone.unlock.no/ and completed the process. Then restored 1.0.2 in iTunes, then opened iNdependence for activation and was going to follow instruction from here: http://modmyifone.com/wiki/index.php...Phone_to_1.1.1 It says that we need to activate in the older iNdependence 1.2.1a first and then upgrade to 1.1.1...so while following this process: http://modmyifone.com/wiki/index.php...ck_OS_X_Part_2 iNdependence 1.2.1a on iTunes 7.4.2 (Leopard) crashed and my iPhone got stuck on the Apple logo...I restored again in iTunes, and it went into an endless reboot....Apple logo, screen flashes, apple logo, screen flashes...
Any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried restoring in iTunes 7.3, 7.4, 7.4.1, 7.4.2, using 7.4 with AppTapp 3.1 and trying this http://iphone.nullriver.com/beta/endless_reboot in Terminal...All failed.
I'm guessing all my problems were caused because I was too stupid and used this stuff on Leopard. Does anyone know if I would have better luck if I go back to Tiger and try there?
Anyhelp would be GREATLY APPRECIATE, because currently I've given my own iPhone to my dad, and I worked many months to get money to buy my own and wouldn't want to let him keep it forever, leaving me iPhoneless. I would really really appreciate anyone's input. Thanks a lot!
Edit: Admin pls close this threat. I've fixed my problem by bypassing instructions and upgrading to 1.1.1 and activating/unlocking as if it was a brand new phone.
