Unlocking and jailbreaking questions
Hello there everyone,
I didnt know where to put this so i am asking this here ,
i have an iphone 2g that is unlocked and it works with the carried in my country now....the iphone's firmware version is 1.1.4 and it has the installer in it(i dont know if its jailbroken or not)
i managed to install cydia to it using this guide
http://www.hackthatphone.com/114/iphone_cydia.html
but as the firmware is old i dont get the add sources option in cydia
i have read a lot about jailbreak softwares and tools but i am confued so i want to ask the experts here what should i do....here are my questions
1. How do i upgrade my firmware version while keeping the phone still unlocked and not bricking it cause this iphone was hard to find here and its very costly as it is not sold here in my country?
2. How can i install cracked ipa applications to it?
any step by step help would be appreciated
thanks in advance

You have 2 options:
1.) Restore your phone to original 2.2.1 firmware. After the upgrade the phone will be locked. After that you can use QuickPWN to unlock & jailbreak.
2.) Create or find a custom firmware for your 2G iphone (v2.2.1). Do a shit-restore in DFU mode. After the restore your iphone will be unlocked and jailbroken.
You can find tutorials for both options either on this forum or on iclarified or on many other sites.
For ipa applications you need firmware 2.0 or newer. How to install cracked ipa applications is not allowed to be discussed here.
