For Unlocking Experts:Can I unlock my iphone w/o using a 2nd simcard in the process?
I just bought the iphone and I would like to unlock it without using the Tmobile simcard in the process. Is it achievable or do I automatically need to use a Tmobile Simcard in the unlocking process to unlock it?
Why? Bc I dont have a Tmobile account as of now but i am planning to travel to EU soon and would like to just use prepaid simcard there with my iphone to avoid the costly roaming charges.
hope someone is knowledgeable enough on the subject.
regards,
M@sterguy

You dont need any sim card actually...however it' s good to have one to test.

Since the use of a 2nd Sim card in the unlocking process is just for testing and not required to unlock, i guess i can use any sim card while in EU? Would that sim card need to have been activated for voice and data in order to have my iphone fully functional or it is independent from it?
