    Default Unlocked it using iphone.unlock.no, I would like to upgrade to 1.1.1 with T-Mobile

    I've looked around, I see threads that say don't run this unless your phone is a virgin 1.1.1. Then I see some threads that say it can be done, but the phone itself will not work on, let's say T-Mobile or an international carrier... I unlocked my phone using instructions on iphone.unlock.no on a FW 1.0.2 and Radio 03.14.08_G.

    So to save a few people and myself a bricked phone...

    (I am on an Intel Mac, OS X instructions would be best, but I appreciate XP help as well)

    -Can I safely use this virginizer: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12052?
    -Can I safely upgrade to 1.1.1? How (just an iTunes restore)?
    -Can I safely simunlock my phone for T-Mobile for all of the phone's functionality? Which method, could you kindly point me to the thread or software? I saw this, http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/site/anysim11.html, but will it work with the virginizer above?
    -New version of AppTapp easy to install?

    Apologies for over using the "Can I safely" expression. Thanks in advance for any help and sharing insight on this topic.

    I did the same... and I finished upgrading this afternoon..
    make sure geohot's IPSF spoof server is still up before doing it...

    - Virginizer worked for me but I had restored 1.0.2 before starting... and it relocked me...
    - I used the latest independence to prep before 1.1.1 update... easier method
    - after update (took forever) got back in and only had to activate via indep. no jailbreak needed since I prepped it... installed ssh then copied installer.app from a backup i had.. no way to install it, i had to manually copy it then update to latest beta.

    I did mine yesterday. Went pretty smoothly on the whole, but am having problems getting YouTube to work. I think the new version of PAYCAY might fix that though. It wasn't clear to me why we have to do the IPSF spoof server thing, seemed very complicated, but it worked so I won't complain. Would be nice to know why it was necessary though?
