unlocked, travelling to Barcelona, whats the best SIM?
Hey
dunno where else to ask this, but I'm going to spain for two weeks over the holidays, and wanted to take my unlocked iphone, but don't want a $4000 bill.. so i'm looking for a SIM card, pay as i go.
i see that voda, orange, and movistar all offer similar plans, but i don't know which is best in barna, or if there is a price difference, or if any will allow me to use EDGE or GPRS without a contract?
i don't plan on making too many calls, texts to friends around the city i guess, maps would be nice, and would like to be able to check my email, and so on.
any thoughts? as well, what is the public Wi-fi situation like?
thanks

You are better off searching google for
Free wifi hotspots Barcelona.
There are a few places that offer it. Otherwise you will have to pay. I would not consider using EDGE because it will be extremely expensive.
e.g. http://www.jiwire.com/search-wifi-ho...&pay_free=free

IŽd go for www.yoigo.com
You can buy prepaid cards in The Phone House in Glories and Diagonal Mar Shopping Centers.
They use Vodafone infrastructure in Barcelona. Service is ok and cheap. Plus you can use GPRS (no EDGE in Spain) without a contract for 1,39€ a day unlimited.
WiFi sucks in Barcelona. Lots of Starbucks have their WiFi routers out of service.
