unlocked phone but still signing with cingular
i've had my iphone since the first day (june 29th) but i've been using it only for its ipod and wi-fi since i'm a verizon customer. I unlocked it last week since i go to europe 4-5 times a year and always use a VODAFONE sim card
today i decided to actually port my verizon number to cingular and be a cingular customer. With Verizon, i have no signal whatsover in my own home while cingular has 3 bars so thats pretty much the only reason why im even making the switch
i RESTORED my phone and bought a new cingular 3G sim in order to be able to activate it (im on hold for 45 min with at&t while im writing this) but my question is, CAN I STILL HAVE ALL THE AT&t FEATURES EVEN THOUGH THE PHONE IS UNLOCKED? even visual voicemail? i plan on adding 3rd party software, ringtones, etc. so im asking if it should affect my at&t features at all.... thanks
i even plan on unlocking it again, since im going to europe october 1st

just curious to know: if the phone is already unlocked, doesnt that mean that any sim will work on it? Including at&t sims? So why re-lock it?

if i wanted to get a brand new at&t contract, i would have to get a cali number, which i dont wanna do since i have the same number since 1997
so only way i can do it is via itunes....

nope...just port your number over to tmobile....tell them you already have a phone, and then you have your new york number in cali. and keep it unlocked.

yeah I don't see why the won't let you keep your number. I also have had the same number for years. Had my Texas number while I was in college up in Boston. Its your number dammit!
you just had to call at&t and tell them you already have a num. You just want the service with them.
