Hi,
I've been lurking around this forum and checking the Dev Team Wiki every day since my iPhone arrived in the Netherlands on July 2.
Today I've unlocked the iPhone using modmyiphone.com's excellent step-by-step guide over at http://modmyiphone.com/wiki/index.ph...ck_OS_X_Part_1 (I'm on a Mac, obviously).
I started at Part 3, Step 2 of this guide, because I had already activated the phone using Anderson's iPhoneTool (http://www.anderson-technologies.com/archives/5) and had installed Nullriver's installer.app (http://iphone.nullriver.com/beta/).
The Modmyiphone.com guide is a breeze! I followed it word-by-word and had no problem whatsoever. The guy who wrote it is a genius. But the biggest Thank you, of course, is for the Dev Team. Duizend maal dank, as we say in Dutch!
I can confirm call in/call out and text in/text out on both Telfort/KPN and Vodafone NL. Since no carrier in the Netherlands supports EDGE, that seems to be out of the question. If anyone knows of a tweak or anything to maybe get GPRS working, I'd be interested.
Greetings from Amsterdam!
Forgot to add: I have iTunes 7.4.1 on my machine. Sync works as usual.
Update: I've used these settings under Settings > General > Network > EDGE to get Vodafone NL GPRS working:
APN: live.vodafone.com
Username: vodafone
Password: vodafone
It's slowish but it works.
Boy, what a great day!
