I live in egypt and i have one of my friends in the US now and i will ask him to buy iphone for me but i have few questions could u kindly answer me :

Would i ask him to buy the locked or the partially unlocked one ?

Is there any chance to fully unlock it soon in egypt ?

Shall i take the risk and buy it now and keep it here in egypt considering that i don't have any other friends to buy it later for me and it will cost me less if i asked him to buy it now ?

Do i need to ask him to bring anything else along with the iphone to help me to fully unlock it later on ? as shipping to egypt is crab !!!

There is no unlocked iPhone avaliable. Your friend needs to bring you your iPhone and then you can activate it using the tools referred to on this site or using the 999-99-9999 social security number.

If you want to use your iPhone with AT&T If your friend is real nice, whilst he is in the US, he might open a Post Paid AT&T account for you to use so you can roam in Egypt. AT&T will require a substantial deposit and a US billing address but they will do this if you are at a store in person.

If you dont' you need to be ordering the EasySim to clone a V1 Sim and be the first to find out if you can clone onto the Egyptian cellular service!!

I don't think he will get me at&t and how can i get the Easysim ( where shall i ask my friend to buy it ) and i don't know how to clone .........

There seems to be some misunderstanding: there is no unlock and no partial unlock. You're probably referring to the activation which allows the iPhone to be used as a wireless device (iPod, Internet, eMail, etc.) through WiFi.

Buy a NEW iPhone and apply the activation hack yourself, there are already different methods available, one of them should work for you.
As soon as the unlock is available, it should be possible to apply it in Egypt too (unless some special hardware is required but I hope not).

Nope. Don't worry all iPhones have a SIM slot. A lot of people assume that the iPhone doesn't have a SIM card (or cannot be replaced) since they didn't see the slot on the top. Theres a very small section on the top that can be removed if you insert a paper clip into a small hole. There's a tray that comes out and has the SIM inside it.
