Unlocked, but don't have service
hey guys,
I have a problem with my 2g iphone, firmware 2.1 it says "no service" even with at&t simcard. First, I tried to unlock it with quickpawn, didn't work, all applications work, but I can't call, when I downloaded bootneuter from cydia and opened it, it gives me mistake "couldn't read bootloaders". I downgraded to 2.0.2- same problem(used winpwn 2.5), then I downgraded to 2.0.1(used winpwn 2.0.0.4)again same problem.I tried with simcard and without, at&t and others. My iphone was recently replaced by applestore, because my old phone cracked.seems like I tried everything, if somebody experienced same problems or knows solutions, please let me know.thanks.

Are you using a legit iPhone-plan with AT&T?

Bootneuter giving that error - never seen this. Try a DFU restore to firmware 2.1 first. Then use Quickpwn again. I assume you are on a Mac cause you had to download Bootneuter from Cydia, right?
After the restore and quickpwn download Bootneuter again and give it a try. If this aint work, DFU restore again and return the iPhone to Apple.
One more, put your private simcard in the iPhone, the one you want to use later.

thanks for respond, no, I am on Windows.I will try to upgrade it to 2.1 again. But I am not sure if apple with accept it back, because my warranty in my old phone already expired.what do u think about bootneuter, that it cannot read bootloaders? i tried many of them(3.9 4.6), from different sources.

Ah,
Make sure to DFU restore to 2.1, there is a how to in the general section of the iPhone forum part.
You are telling me that you downloaded the bootloaders, then on the other hand that you used Cydia to download Bootneuter - makes no sense. the Windows version of Quickpwn does it all in one, no need downloading Bootneuter.
Check here for a complete how-to. They have all download links. Just follow it step-by-step, your private simcard in the iPhone. It will work, I am sure.

I did exactly like instructed in "iclarified" sait. i restore custom ipsw with itunes, and when phone is rebooted, I can see it startes bootneuter and gives same error.after that it reboots itself, and still 'No signal" then i can't see bootneuter on the screen, that;s the reason i download it from cydia. and when i run bootneuter, same error "can't read bootloader" comes back.

Taht does not sound good. Is there any thing you did to the iPhone before you first used quickpwn?

You need to redownload the bootloader files and place them in the quickpwn folder. The error you are getting means the bootloader files are wrong and it is not unlocking your phone. Keep trying different bootloader files untill it works without error. I used the mac version of quickpwn but have seen the error before. Keep searching the fourm you will find links to sites that have the files.
Good luck. Also you would have a new warranty if you got a replacement handset. But your problem is the bootloader files you are using.

Thats what I would be guessing if he only had used Quickpwn for Windows. After that he downloaded Bootneuter via Cydia and tried to unlock. it did not work and was throwing the error on the iPhone, thats what concerned me...
