So... If you are able to write the firmware, and the hardware unlock involves sending a 1 to another device (radio chip?)...

Why not hack the firmware from the main microprocessor or mcu to send that +1.8 or 1 to the modem when the test point needs to be pulled high?



Just an idea... I might be saying stupid things.. But it looks like the guys have the MCU firmware wide open.... So why not?

I yet don't know how hardware unlock works (i just heared about it), but remember that it might be hardware lock, and other fireware won't work because GSM hardware will not listen to new ruler too ;p besides its not easy to make good alternative firmware

I mean its just a matter of writing a "1" to a an I/O of the MCU or Processor unit...
