unlock after activation?
Hi, first post here!
Firstly I want to say a massive thanks to everyone whos currently working over on iphonedevwiki.com your time, effort and knowledge is greatly appriciated.
Hope I don't seem like one of the annoying people who ask the same stupid questions over and over again... I'd consider myself pretty well educated in terms of iPhone info.
That said, I still have one questio bugging me.
I'm from the UK and will be recieving an import iPhone in the coming days. Question is... Should I bypass AT&T activation and use the phone as a WiFi device/iPod and wait till the phone can be unlocked or will activation ruin my chances of unlocking. Am I safer leaving the phone as it is and unlocking first before tricking activation?
Any info/ideas regarding this would help loads.
if you already have an ipod, then why would you even want to play with this iphone? if you don't own an ipod, then use the iphone as your mp3 player
for ex. i have a 60 GB ipod, so it doesnt make sense for me to play with the activation...wishful thinking tells me in a week MAXIMUM, this phone will be unlocked, so i dont wanna play with it just yet

Yeah, I have 3 iPods. But I still want to play. Theres pretty much everything other than the iPod application to use. Photos/Safari/Calendar/Full Screen Video. Its not if I want to activate or not, I obviously do.
I just want to know whether its going to ruin my chances of unlocking later on?
Not sure whether the dev guys are far enough into the iPhone to know this or not yet.
