[Unknown][Sorted]Problem with my first iPhone
My first post has to be a problem right?? lol.
Just got my iPhone, only I got it through the lost property section at work.
It has a pin code its not sim specific as Ive tried mine and the gf's sims and it still requests it.
Is there a way to restore the defaults?, Ive waited 2months before being allowed to claim it from lost property and now im so disapointed.
Any help would be greatfuly recived.

Honestly, you probably will not get a response because it seems by your story that it may be a stolen phone, and not received from work. as you say. But I will still try to help, if you have an iPod cable plug the iPhone into computer and see if it shows up in iTunes. If it requires you to enter the passcode to restore then you will have to put the phone into DFU or Restore Mode and then try restoring. But if the original owner reported the phone stolen to AT&T then the phone will not be able to be used on any carrier and is only usable as an iPod Touch with the iPhone apps and an unusable phone app. The phone app could be used to store contacts and emails and stuff like an address book, but you could not call anybody. YOu could not SMS/Text anybody either, unless you got one of the free SMS apps.
iPhone "2G" - 3.1.3 - Jailbroken + iPhoDroid
iPhone 4 - 4.0.2 - Not jailbroken (yet)

I understand what your saying about how I got the phone but it is exactly how I got it.
Ive conected it to iTunes but it requires the passcode to be entered on the iPhone before it will connect.
How do I put it into DFU or Restore mode?
Ive also found out that its using Firmware 04.04.05_G
Many thanks.

Hey DJ.. or anyone for that matter, but since you bring up the subject.. do you know if or to whom I could report my stolen iphone to so that the jerk who stole it cannot use the phone part of it? I use TMobile.
thanks

After having my old nokia stolen while out on the lash I reported it stolen to the police and Orange who said if it was used again the phone would block itself and be useless. How true it is is unknown as I never saw the phone again.

Yeah, you have to file a police report or even call your carrier and report to them that it was stolen. Even though it wasa unlocked T-Mobile should still block the IMEI, which blocks the IMEI on ALL carriers.
