Default unable to join network (not the WEP issue)

my 8gig iphone has some wifi problems, maybe anyone of you can help on this.

for three days it worked very fine on my home wlan (linksys) with wep-key, no problem (already using 1.0.1), great speed, everything very well.

from one minute to the other it stopped working and was unable to reconnect to the accespoint again "unable to join network "homeoffice".
since then it never connected to any other APs, not at the office (cisco APs), not on my very old billion AP, not on my airport express.

i tried nearly everything, resetting network/all settings, did several full resets, several factory resets, used WEP, WEP2 and also no encryption,..no mac accesslists and so on. (using and setting up wifi is not new for me)

the misterious thing is, browsing accesspoints works fine, the iphone sees every AP near my place but could not connect them "unable to join...". (there is no "forget.." button)

what seems to work is a adhoc-wifi-connection to my g4 powerbook, so i do not think there is a hardware problem...?

also upgrading to 1.0.2 did not help.

my iphone ist hot hacked, itīs officially activated with at&t prepaid

i also tried to downgrade to 1.0.0 because i thougth the modem firmware crashed but when i downgraded it still had version 03.14.08_G on my iphone, upgraded to firmware 1.0.2, the modem firmware did not change on my iphone.

    any idea?

Same problem, but for software-unlocked phone.
Can connect only to non-encrypted (open) network. If I try to have encription on router (WPA, WEP, WPA2) - "unable to join..."

    Help plz!

Slightly different problem here: my iPhone will rarely see wifi networks now, and they are always weak and disconnect when I try to do anything (browse, YouTube, etc). Before it was working fine at home and work.

happened to me, but now its working. It seams its a conflict between EDGE and WIFI. I had to sync with my pc. You could also try to log via ssh comand line and stop and start commcenter.

What i do now is just turn on wifi when i need it and not leave it on. On EDGE i leave the APN blank also and fill when needed.

im getting the same issue. Everything worked before. all of a sudden its not detecting the wifi and so i power on and off. Once the phone detects my wifi, you would see the wifi bar filled but it still doesnt work. Edge does work btw....
