First off, I know this has probably been posted a bajillion times, but I think my guide is clearer. If a moderator or someone thinks it is unnessesary then please remove. I do not mean to spam or anything, I believe this is easier and clearer than even the guide posted in the genius bar section.

How to Jailbreak 1.1.2

Note: If you have installed MobileMail on your iPod touch, there is a chance an update to 1.1.2 will brick your device until a restore. This issue can be prevented by switching Auto-Check off.

- Go to General>Mail>Auto-Check. Set it to Manual


Step 1: Download Apple iPhone Firmware 1.1.1 or lower depending on which firmware you want to stay with, if you are planning on upgrading to 1.1.2 download 1.1.1
If you want to stay with an earlier firmware skip steps 18-25 if your iPhone is already activated

Step 2: Download iBrickr by clicking Here

Step 3: Download TouchFree Jailbreak 1.1.2 by clicking Here

Step 4: Download WinSCP by clicking Here

Step 5: Plug your iPhone into your computer via the usb cable it came with

Step 6: Open iTunes (You can use iTunes 7.4 or 7.5 doesn't matter, not sure about 7.6 though)

Step 7: Click on your iPhone in the sidebar

Step 8: Click on Sync, wait for your iPhone to sync then continue to Step 9

Step 9: Put your iPhone into Recovery Mode (DFU Mode) by holding the Power Button (Top Button) and Home Button (Only button on the front of the iPhone) for 10 seconds, then release the Power Button (Top Button)

Step 10: iTunes should now say it has detected an iPhone in Recovery Mode or DFU Mode
****If you get an error message that says "iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error has occured. (-11)" Then go to Step 11B****

Step 11A: Click on the iPhone in the sidebar

Step 11B: If you got an Error -11 then turn your iPhone on and plug into your computer via usb cable, Shift-Click Restore and find the firmware ipsw in the file browser window. Click ok. It should restore with error 1015 or 1013 at the end. iTunes might then say that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode, if it does continue to step 12

Step 12: Shift-Click Restore and locate the firmware ipsw file that you downloaded, click OK

Step 13: The Restore should end with Error 1015 or Error 1013

Step 13B: close iTunes

Step 14: Run iBrickr.exe

Step 15: Click Boot iPhone

Step 16: If your iPhone is already activated go to if not go to Step 17B

Step 17A: Go to the bottom of the page and click Install AppSnapp (Continue to Step 18)

Step 17B: At the activation page slide the slide for emergency slider, dial *#307#, then press call, use the back button at the top of the screen to remove *#307#

Step 17C: Then Dial 0, press call, press answer, press hold, and press decline. This should take you to the contact list if not, try again.

Step 17D: Push contacts, end call and you get called again, this time hit decline and you can access menus with favorites, you can edit contacts, do a test ride on keyboard, take photos etc.

Step 17E: Edit a contact and make a new web address, type in prefs://11, make another new web address, this time type in,

Step 17F: If you tap prefs://11 you can choose a Wi-Fi network to connect to

Step 17G: Press the home button and slide the slider, you should see the key pad

Step 17H: Now go back to the contact list by Dialing 0, push call, then answer, then contacts, then hit the web address you typed in

Step 17I: Scroll down to the bottom, click Install AppSnapp. Safari will exit and you'll return to your springboard. Wait for the phone to reboot. You are now jailbroken and are able to use

Step 18: Launch, scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1), select Oktoprep, and click Install

Step 19: Connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes

Step 20: Choose your iPhone from the sidebar

Step 21: Click update (If iTunes says the 1.1.1 is the latest firmware version then download Firmware 1.1.2 and shift-click(Windows) on Check for Update and find the 1.1.2 ipsw that you downloaded. DO NOT SHIFT-CLICK RESTORE, IT WILL ERASE THE CHANGES OKTOPREP MADE AND YOU WILL HAVE TO START OVER FROM THE BEGINNING

Step 22: Wait for your iPhone to finish updating

NOTE: If your iPhone is not activated then it will be hacked and activated for you, YouTube will be enabled. If you do not wish to do this please activate your iPhone with iTunes BEFORE proceeding

Step 23: Close iTunes and connect your iPhone to the computer

Step 24: Double click on Windows.bat

Step 25: Follow the given instructions
