Default UK Iphone - NO 3G what a pisser

I'm gutted - what a letdown, the UK IPhones wont support 3G.

You can bet your bottom dollar around Q2-Q3 next year , they will release the 3G version with mabe 16gb or something with the *WOW* factor like 32 GB.whhoopppee..

I bet they have the 3G model already to go, but for commercial reasons they are cashing in on the old version first...

    Corporate suckers !!!

Thats a tough tradeoff... The internet usage on Edge, is, in my opionion, unusable. I couldnt believe how slow it was. Its gonna piss loads of people off..

Boarders come on , Jobs has told the reason why he has difficulty bringing in the 3g model so early and he has told the the next model will have which will be in 2008 , just be patient , still without 3g its good phone. Only thing u are gng to miss without 3g is video calling , and video streaming(which is not possible rt now with wi-fi also ).

When asked why the current model didn't have 3G, Jobs blamed power issues saying that the 3G chipset would be too much of a drain on the unit's battery life which promises 8 hours of call time, but said that future models would have the technology.

"We are working on the next iPhone already, the one after that and the one after that", Jobs said.

Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs said today that it's his company's job to stymie hackers who try to unlock the iPhone -- the first time the company has officially said it would fight attempts to use the popular device on unauthorized networks.

At a London Apple retail store where he announced the iPhone's Nov. 9 U.K. debut, Jobs responded to a question about whether Apple would put a stop to the unlock hacks that have mushroomed recently. "It's a cat-and-mouse game," said Jobs. "We try to stay ahead. People will try to break in, and it's our job to stop them breaking in."

    Irrelevant and actually untrue...

He said "are we the cats?"; I was there.

He also did no such thing as to say that it was apple's job to stymie the hackers. Don't paraphrase what you didn't hear.

No mention was made regarding fighting or anything... Though your mum was mentioned a few times... And we all knew what Steve meant.... oooh yeah.

Default 3g vs edga= EDGE Rules!

I, and a whole slew of HTC phone users have had 3G for over two years, and all the phones now have a '3G Off" Button. This was certainly not the case when they first came out.

The reason for this? Hmm let's see...a yes, I had 3G on in London today and my phone was flat out by 5PM....3 G blows goats guys...sorry

I've never used 3g as the US is pretty slow w/ these kind of things, but it seems like that only reason i would use 3g is vid streaming. Vid calling? as if txting, pic msg, and voice calls weren't enought.
