Two upcoming iphone tidbits from an Apple Store manager...
Not sure if this is old news already, but I was chatting with an Apple Store manager this week and was told two juicy bits of info that I hadn't heard before:
1. Apple is setting up the wifi store with Starbucks in such a way that customers at Starbucks will be able to see the last 10 songs played at Starbucks and purchase them.
2. Apple is already working on the next generation iPhone that will be overall significantly smaller (surface area-wise) than the current 1st generation iPhone...

boring news --- no more iphones for me, one bad experience is bad enough --- control freakishness freak me out... I am , however, in the market for an updated Newton PDA... could not care less what all they put on the iphone now - and Jobs is obviously not going to let go of his choke hold on his creation anytime soon

He would love to, but he can't.

if you go to engadget.com; you'll see a story on how they saw something titled iPhone extreme in a line of HTML coding on their site. Its the little things that apple forgets to coverup that are so fun to witness.

Both points are kind of, duh. But, here's the thing that gets me, is it not obvious to you that Apple is working on iPhone #5 by now?
Don't listen to Apple Retail employees, even managers, they don't know about rumors. Stop hounding them. Stop going in to Apple stores and wasting time asking them, they didn't get to touch or look at a real iPhone until an hour before the damn thing was released, trust me, they do not know and it is a waste of time to bother them about it.

I'd like to second goodluck's statement. I worked at an Apple Store for some time and I can assure you store employees, managers, genii, etc. are kept just as in the dark about new hardware/software as the general public. Aside from the same rumors that you and I read online, they know nothing about any new iphones.
It was always fun coming into work one morning and be given 10 minutes to read up on new hardware/software and then talk to people about it for the rest of the day.

Yep, definitely going to have to agree with that. They are no more likely to know anything than any one of us.
