I had the same issues with a friend's 16GB phone.
He had tried to unlock it before but did not succeed. Now iTunes (OSX) could not restore and update the phone anymore (iPhone needs repairs...)
Tried ZIPhone shell (Windows) and successfully unlocked the phone. Made calls on tMobile (US) but strange problems with headphones, mic, and earpiece not working correctly. Would work only as speaker phone. iTunes would only play through speaker with headphones plugged in. Software version was shown as 1.1.1 (from previous unlock attempts).
Using iTunes 7.6 on Windows successfully restored it to 1.1.3 but locked again.
Run ZIPhone again to unlock, jailbreak and activate again - success.
All works fine now, incl. uTube, maps, etc.

I have tried everything. I even restored to 1.1.3 via itunes twice just in case. I still get the same error message from ziphone as shown below.

Does this mean that something and needs to be patched before this method of unlocking is successful? I have searched the forum at length and cannot find any information that relates to this issue.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This is driving me crazy. I am using V7.5 of itunes on a Mac. Maybe now is time to update to 7.6 and try again; maybe on PC.

Is this the only change you made in your process to rectify the problem? What version of ziphone did you use on the PC with itunes 7.6?

so I had a 1.1.3 officially jailbreaked phone with the original baseband (it was an otb 1.1.1). after using ziphone 2.1 everything seemed to work until I tried to install stuff (bsd, games) from installer. 'cause then it crashed. no restart helped either. only apple logo and animated loading sign. now after third restoring i do not even dare to touch the installer. any idea?

Restore and use ziphone 2.2 version this time. 2.1 was buggy...

We could upgrade with the hardware trick.
My iPhone is still opened because I downgrad the bootloader to 3.9
Before to close it, I would like to come back to 4.6 because of the last event.
I read that's possible to do this in the same way I did the 3.9 downgrad but I have to replace the 3.9 nor with a 4.6 nor file.
Can someone confirm and give a link to this 4.6 nor file ??

This error seems to happen on OSX 10.4. On 10.5 this does not happen.

So i G-unlock my iphone BY (Geohot).

So if was going to use ZiPhone 2.2 to Downgrade my BL what will happen to my iphone and is there anyway to reverse the side effect?
